This is just my opinion, coming from someone in the radio industry mind you. Digital radio is not here to stay for long. Regular radio is grasping at anything they can to get people to stop switching to online audio or ssatellite radio. Give it 2 years tops...just my 2 cent that is though.

Not necessarily. We're due to switch Analogue radio off completely, region by region, starting, well, quite soon here in the UK. I have a talking Dab radio and it does tell you what station you're on when you press the tune button which is also the dial you rotate to select the different stations. It will say "you are listening to, BBC7, Talksport, Smash Hits, Jazz FM or whatever you're tuned in to at the time. As you click round the dial, it will say which station you'll select if you press the button.

sory, I should have pointed out, yes DAB has been a big hit in the u.k. and other parts of Europe. But when it comes to north america no. Big corporate whores like clear channel and cbs radio want to shove it down everyone's throat and establish it in a couple of months. It doesn't work. DAB has been in palce in the uk for like...5 or 6 years now, and they went about it right.

Yes i do agree i think digital is taking over. To be honest i was kinda disappointed when i got my DAB as when they were advitised it says that you will get cristal clear recepsion but that is not the case, however i do like DABS as you can get stations that you can't on a analogue radio

with talk about increasing royalty rates and stuff I think that digital radio will brecome even more popular.
At least with digital radio you don't have to pay for monthly subscriptions and all that though you don't all that satellite has to ofer either.

Yeah, that's true. You can listen to virtually any satellite station you want on the telly.
